ARCHBISHOP ANOUSHAVAN GETS WARM WELCOME AT ARMENIAN SISTERS ACADEMY IN PHILADELPHIA

On Thursday, May 1, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of Philadelphia; Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian, Pastor Emeritus of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, and Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor of St. Illuminator’s Cathedral of New York, visited the Armenian Sisters Academy in Philadelphia.
At the entrance of the school, the Prelate was warmly welcomed by the principal, Sister Emma Moussayan, Sister Gayane, and the students with a heartfelt message of greeting. He then toured the classrooms and held intimate meetings with all the students, creating engaging moments of questions and answers in each class.
Afterward, the students presented a rich artistic program of songs and recitations, the most touching moment of which was when a Montessori student presented the Prelate with a bouquet of paper flowers, each petal inscribed with the names of the students in her class.
Deeply moved by the honor bestowed upon him and his entourage, Archbishop Anoushavan highly praised the beautifully prepared program by the administration and faculty.
He offered special thanks for the bouquet, saying that all the flowers he had received before had withered and faded, while this one, as an everlasting flower, would remain on his desk.
He also wished that the students, in addition to their lessons, would continue to grow in Grace, which he noted as a hallmark of the school’s unique character.
On this occasion, the Prelate presented the school with a holy icon, prepared by the Prelacy, in memory of the one and a half million martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
The visit concluded with the collective singing of the Lord’s Prayer, followed by a reception in honor of the guests.
