DATEV SUMMER PROGRAM GATHERS YOUTH FOR A WEEK OF FAITH, LEARNING, AND FELLOWSHIP
The Eastern Prelacy’s St. Gregory of Datev Institute commenced its 39th annual Summer Program on Sunday, July 6, at the Shiloh Bible Camp and Retreat Center in Hewitt, New Jersey. The enriching weeklong program of diverse activities, designed for youth ages 13-18, brought together 58 students, and 19 clergy and lay instructors and staff. It centers around three main objectives: Christian education and formation, recreational activities, and prayer and worship.
The participants represent the following eleven communities: St. Illuminator’s Cathedral (NYC), St. Gregory the Illuminator Church (PA), Sts. Vartanantz Church (NJ), St. Stephen’s Church (MA), St. Gregory Church (MA), Sts. Vartanantz Church (RI), Holy Cross Church (NY), St. Gregory the Enlightener Church (NY), St. Leon Church (NJ), Sourp Asdvadzadzin Church (Canada), and Sourp Kevork Church (Canada).
The program will conclude on Sunday, July 13, with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy (Soorp Badarak) at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church in Ridgefield, New Jersey.
