POPE LEO XIV THANKS CATHOLICOS ARAM I, HAILING BROTHERHOOD IN FAITH

In a personal letter addressed to His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV first expressed his gratitude for the presence of a delegation from the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia at the solemn Holy Mass held on the occasion of his enthronement. On that occasion, Their Eminences Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, and Archbishop Kegham, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, conveyed the greetings and fraternal prayers of the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia to the new Pope.
With the blessing of Catholicos Aram I, Archbishop Anoushavan, along with Archbishop Kegham, attended the enthronement of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on Sunday, May 18, in Rome. The ceremony marked the official beginning of the newly elected Pontiff’s tenure as head of the Catholic Church.
The Pope emphasized in his letter that this gesture was a tangible expression of Christian brotherhood and unity of faith.
In the same letter, the Pope conveyed his commitment to cooperate with Catholicos Aram I—as with all spiritual leaders—for the strengthening of church unity and the promotion of collaboration and coexistence among nations in today’s world, marked by divisions.
