PRELACY DISTRIBUTES ARMENIAN EDITION OF ARSLAN’S BOOK OF MUSH TO STUDENTS

The latest publication of the Eastern Prelacy is The Book of Mush (Մշոյ գիրքը), by Italian Armenian writer Antonia Arslan, which was translated from Italian into Western Armenian by Dr. Vartan Matiossian, the Prelacy’s Executive Director.

Copies of the novella, a fictional story about the enormous thirteenth-century manuscript called The Homiliary of Mush, which two anonymous women managed to rescue and bring to safety during the Armenian Genocide, have been distributed to teachers and students in the upper grades of the Armenian day schools in the East Coast: St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School (Watertown, MA), Hovnanian School (New Milford, NJ), Holy Martyrs (Bayside, NY), and Armenian Sisters Academy (Radnor, PA). The eighth graders of the Armenian Sisters Academy have written a letter of thanks to His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate (see picture).

The Armenian and English translations of this intriguing book are available from the Prelacy Bookstore.
