In Memoriam | Archdeacon Zaven Kasagyan
ARCHDEACON ZAVEN KASAGYAN
(March 8, 1920 – December 18, 2020)
His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, and the Executive and Religious Councils of the Eastern Prelacy were saddened to learn of the passing of Archdeacon Zaven Kasagyan on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born in Constantinople on March 8, 1920.
After he settled in the United States, he joined the community of St. Sarkis Church, where he was actively involved and was ordained a deacon in 1965 by His Eminence Archbishop Hrant Khachadourian, the Prelate at the time.
Until the last years of his life he faithfully served the St. Sarkis Church.
Archdeacon Zaven Kasagyan’s wife, Alice, predeceased him. He is survived by his children Arpine and Kirkor Urganciyan, Sona and Kirkor Gulagaci, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Archbishop Anoushavan presided at the funeral services on December 22 and spoke on behalf of the Executive and Religious Councils, extending their condolences to Archdeacon Zaven’s family. May God illuminate his soul.
