A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO PRAYER

The Eastern Prelacy held a two-part virtual Christian educational program for adults entitled “A practical guide to establishing a very short discipline of prayer” on October 6 and 13, 2021, from 8:00-9:00 pm, with the participation of 67 people, presented by Archdeacon Shant Kazanjian, Director of Christian Education.

If we are to remain constant in prayer, as we are exhorted in the scriptures, we need a discipline of prayer, rooted and grounded in the scriptures. When we are in a dire situation or completely overjoyed, prayer for most of us comes naturally, without much effort. But life happens between these two extremes. That is why we need a disciplined prayer life, noted Deacon Shant.

Dn. Shant spoke about some of the essential resources that we have available to us in the scriptures and the Armenian Church tradition for establishing a very short discipline of prayer, a discipline that anyone who wishes to pray will be able to in a few minutes a day. And he provided a practical outline for the participants to use.
