FR. BEDROS SHETILIAN CONDUCTS MOZART IN LONDON
In addition to serving the parish of St. Gregory Church in Indian Orchard, MA, Rev. Fr. Bedros Shetilian has a distinguished career as a conductor. On Nov. 25, he conducted a program including Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven for London Mozart Players at St. John’s Smith Square, one of the finest musical venues in the British capital. The entire concert will be soon available on the orchestra’s website, together with interviews and other materials.
Fr. Bedros’ started his musical education at Yerevan Romanos Melikian Musical College, following which he enrolled at St. Petersburg Conservatory, graduating in the class of Yuri Temirkhanov. The founder of The Troy Orchestra in Troy, NY, he has been acclaimed for performances the specialized press has called “absolutely world-class.” Writing of one of the concerts conducted by Fr. Bedros, Lanstdiningen Ostersund newspaper in Sweden said that had it been recorded, “it could immediately have been issued by any record company in the world.”
