Medz Bahk or Great Lent in the Christian tradition is a time of prayer, fasting, reflection and Christian charity. By giving alms during Medz Bahk to those less fortunate we express our love for one another as children of God in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners and friends, the St. Illuminator’s Cathedral (New York) was able to begin the Lenten season of 2022 by bringing a small measure of relief and hope to some of our brothers and sisters in Armenia and Artsakh. Through the Armenian Prelacy’s St. Nerses the Great Charitable and Social Organization, St. Illuminator’s distributed $100 to 50 families and their children in need.
St. Illuminator’s will continue to sponsor additional such donations during this Lenten season, made possible by the benevolence of parishioners and friends who gave so unselfishly last year to the Cathedral’s Artsakh relief effort.
