Letters from Armenia

MARIE – 10/20/2022

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Marie,* who is sponsored by Ani Yessaillian.

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Marie. I am in 4th grade in school. I like to draw pictures and to sing. When I finish my homework, I often draw pictures of our family: my mother, father, sisters, and brothers.

It was snowing here a couple of days ago and I found a dog in the snow. He is so kind and I call him Mini. Every day on my way home from school, I give him half of my sandwich. I would love to take him home with me, but my mom says that we don’t have space for him in our place. So, I take care of him outside. We made him a kennel so that he doesn’t get cold. It is spring here, but it snows every day.

When I grow up, I will build a big house so that Mini can live with us.

May you be healthy and happy.

With lots of love,

Marie
