NAREG ARMENIAN SCHOOL CELEBRATES HOLY TRANSLATORS’ FEAST

On Saturday, October 22, the Nareg Armenian School (Ridgefield, New Jersey) celebrated the feast of the Holy Translators. The students presented recitations and songs. The school board organized a well-stocked sale of books and presents related to Armenian culture. This initiative is aimed at making Armenian books relevant in the life of school students. The ARS chapters of New Jersey must be commended for their assistance to the success of this event.

On this occasion, Dr. Vartan Matiossian, the Prelacy’s Executive Director, was invited for a talk to the group of former students, who have graduated from 7th grade in the past two years and gather bimonthly. He spoke about the “secret world” of the Armenian language, outlining its roots and history until the present. Thanks are due to Dr. Matiossian for his presentation, which the group of graduates found interesting and useful.
