Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Sarkis Church (Douglaston, New York) on the feast of St. Sarkis on Sunday, February 5. During the Divine Liturgy, the Prelate ordained subdeacon Haroutioun Kahvejian as a deacon and ordained Nicholas Yaghjian, Paul Nenejian, Shahen Fiesel, and Armen Fiesel as acolytes.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Prelate presided over the celebration of St. Sarkis Church’s name day. During the event, the Ladies Guild members received insignias and Mrs. Amy Gostanian was honored with a certificate of merit from the Eastern Prelacy for her longtime service to the church and especially her 30-year-long stint as chairperson of the Ladies Guild.
