Letters from Armenia

TATEV – 3/30/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Tatev,* who is sponsored by Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church of Bethesda, MD.

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Tatev. I was born on March 3, 2006, in Shushi and I lived there until the war. Presently, I live in Stepanakert. I graduated from Shushi’s Khatchatour Abovian Middle School, and I am now a student in a specialized high school affiliated with Grigor Narekatsi University. I am a 2nd-year student at the Department of Economics and Accounting.

Parallel to my school classes, I graduated from hairdressing and cosmetology courses. I want to find a job now, to be able to help out my family.

My dream is to live in peace in our Armenian country and to return to Shushi one day.
