Letters from Armenia

EVA – 4/20/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Eva,* who is sponsored by anonymous.

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Eva. I want to thank you again for your attention.

We live in Stepanakert: my mother, brother, and I. My mom continues her work serving her country, and my brother is in 8th grade in school. I go to school where I have many friends and many beloved teachers. I also participate in many after-school classes, including basketball.

Your help was very important during these difficult days. We appreciate your care and attention, and your financial support. We, Artsakh people, live in very difficult times currently. There is a blockade. We don’t have gas or electricity, and food is very scarce. The blockade deprives us of almost everything. Despite all of that, we are ready to live in our Artsakh. On our land and water.

Dear Sponsor, thank you for sending me [the special gift of] 100 dollars.
