Letters from Armenia

LENA – 6/8/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Lena,* who is sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Vahe Dombalagian

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Lena. I was born and raised in Artsakh’s Martuni sity. I am 11 years old, and I grew up in a family of heroes. I lost my dad, brother, uncle, and grandfather. I had many losses, and it will be very painful for me to lose my Monteberd-Martuni. I have many wonderful memories about my dad and brother. I was very close to them. I promised myself that I will always hold high my family’s honor. My dad was everyone’s savior; when someone needed something, they would always call him. And my father would help everyone, even when he was very tired.

The families of heroes always bring forth new heroes. My biggest dream is for the peace in the whole world. And for everyone to love each other and treat each other with respect.
