Letters from Armenia

EVA – 6/15/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Eva,* who is sponsored by Sona Harris.

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Eva. I live and go to school in Yerevan. Like all the Armenians, no matter if they live here or outside, I love my city. It always makes me happy to see new construction going on in the city, but I am also always worried to see them destroyed one day by the falling bombs. The war has come to Armenia, and we all are anxious and scared that one day we might need to leave our houses and go to bomb shelters.

Many keep emergency bags with documents in their houses, dry food, and warm clothes. I really wish to never need those bags; let them stay there unused.

Thank you for helping us.

Eva
