Last Wednesday, June 14, the Eastern Prelacy concluded its 7-part virtual Bible study program on the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7. Of the 90 participants, 60 attended most of the sessions. The program was conducted by Dn. Shant Kazanjian, Director of Christian Education of the Eastern Prelacy.
The Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5-7) has been deemed as the epitome of the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, a teaching that has baffled many interpreters, ancient and modern, and remains to be challenging to all who decide to follow Christ Jesus as Lord. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven” (Matthew 7:21), the will as it was expressed in the teachings of the Lord in the Scriptures.
