Letters from Armenia

SPARTAK – 6/29/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This week’s letter is from Spartak,* who is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Heratch Doumanian.

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

After the death of my father, I am the only boy in my family. As my mom says, the only man. Every morning, my mother or grandmother take me and my sisters to school. Every day, I have six or seven periods in school. After the classes are over, we wait for our grandmother or mom to take us back home. I am an excellent student in school. I love Math very much and want to become a programmer. During the day, I try to help my mom and grandma as much as I can. I will grow up soon, and will be able to help my mom much more. Every Saturday, we go to my father’s resting place. That’s how our typical days go.
