Letters from Armenia

GARIK – 8/3/2023

The Prelacy’s Orphan Sponsorship program, established in 1993, remains the centerpiece of the Prelacy’s mission in Armenia and Artsakh. We are pleased to share some of the letters that children regularly address to their sponsors.

This letter is from Garik,* who is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Krikor Nercessian

* We use only the first names of the children to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Garik. I am very grateful to you for standing by the children like me. My mom is also very grateful to you for all the things you do for us.

I am 10 years old. I was born in Nagorno-Karabagh in Shahoumian, known as Karvadjar, on December 12, 2011. Currently, we live in the Lori region (of Armenia) in the village of Lernantsk, near Spitak city. We live in a small house of our aunt’s acquaintance.

After school, I help my mom because she is all alone with 3 children after my father died in the 44-Day war and my older brother is still missing.

Dear Sponsor, I and my younger sister Nuné send you our photo. We wish you success in all your endeavors.

Sincerely,

Garik
