His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, was welcomed by the 60 participants and staff of Camp Shushanig, which is being held at Sts. Vartanantz Church in Ridgefield, NJ. The week-long camp, which began on Monday, Aug. 7, is run by 20 counselors and teachers. The day starts off with a prayer in the church, followed by a lesson from Very Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, Pastor. Afterwards, the children have Bible classes, arts and crafts time, dance lessons, and water games outside. Breakfast and lunch are also served between activities.
On Wednesday, August 9, the Prelate visited the camp, blessing the campers and joining them for a group picture. He highly commended this initiative and the commitment of the volunteers. The camp will continue its activities through August 11.
