CATHOLICOS IN DIALOGUE WITH NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY YOUTH

On Friday, November 17, in the evening, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I was welcomed at St. Sarkis Church, of Douglaston, New York, by Rev. Fr. Nareg Terterian, Pastor, along with members of the Board of Trustees, National Representative Assembly delegates, and the community.

Following the Hrashapar canonical prayer and welcoming remarks by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, His Holiness addressed the faithful.  He spoke about the life and witness of the church as the house of God. He emphasized that we all are children of this sacred house, which protects us from life’s adversities, strengthens our faith, encourages us to love one another, and instills in us resilience in the face of challenges. He stressed the importance of active participation in the life, mission, and service of the church. 

During the reception in the church hall, the Catholicos answered concerns and questions from the audience.

On Saturday, November 18, His Holiness had a dialogue at St. Sarkis Church with about a hundred youth from St. Illuminator Cathedral and St. Sarkis Church and Sts. Vartanantz Church of Ridgefield, New Jersey. The discussion mainly focused on the reorganization of the Diaspora, the revitalization of the church, and the role of the youth in Armenian life.
