The Armenian Church is fortunate to have in His Holiness Catholicos Aram I one of the most distinguished ecumenical figures of our times. Thanks to his hard work, his extraordinary gift of church and worldly diplomacy, as well as his uncompromising resolve to give voice to hard truths, His Holiness garners the attention of decision-makers around the world. This was in display during his recent pontifical visit to the Eastern United States. Besides the main goal of touring our parishes and meeting with our communities to instill new, re-energizing ideas, the visit afforded the occasion to meet with His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America; His Excellency Monsignor Gabriele Caccia, Permanent Observer of the Vatican to the United Nations, and other clergymen from different churches, including those who attended an ecumenical service at St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in New York. With Catholicos Aram I, the Armenian Church and the Armenian people stand tall on the world stage.
