On Wednesday, April 24, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the feast of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide. H. E. Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, presided over the Divine Liturgy. Rev. Fr. Nareg Terterian, Pastor of St. Sarkis Church in Douglaston, New York, was the celebrant and delivered the homily at the Holy Martyrs Altar. V. Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, Vicar and Pastor of Sts. Vartanantz Church in Ridgefield, New Jersey, and Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Pastor of the Cathedral, participated in the Divine Liturgy.
A program followed, including the Candlelight Vigil, as well as the blessing of the Madagh and the march to Times Square. The march was organized by the Armenian Youth Federation’s Moush, Hyortik, and Arsen Chapters, and the Armenian National Committee of New York and New Jersey.
