NEW BOOK OF ARCHPRIEST FR. NERSES MANOOGIAN IN ARMENIAN

Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian, Pastor Emeritus of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), has just published a new book in Armenian, The Important Councils of the Armenian Church throughout the Centuries. The book has been released by Sis Publications, an imprint of the Eastern Prelacy. It includes detailed accounts of sixteen such councils held between 354 and 1361. The author has adopted the following criteria to select these meetings: treatment of doctrinal issues with other churches, a special agenda, or their reforming character within the Armenian Church.

In his preface, Fr. Nerses notes that each member of the Armenian clergy participating in the ecumenical movement must be aware of the identity of the church they represent and its past. “It is difficult to cooperate with someone who does not know who he is,” he writes. “On the contrary, it is very pleasant to work with someone who knows his past very well.”

The book is available through the Prelacy bookstore. You may order your copy clicking here or writing to books@armenianprelacy.org
