LOOKING BACK AND AHEAD

Every New Year begins with renewed hopes and vows, yet it seldom ends without most of us looking forward to putting it behind us, even if it was a good one, as 2024 was for the Prelacy. It saw His Holiness Catholicos Aram I visit the parishes of New England and the Midwest during the second leg of his Patriarchal Visit. His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, fittingly celebrated the jubilee of his four decades of service in the Eastern Prelacy on Thanksgiving Day.

As we get ready to embrace the surprises and challenges that 2025 will bring to our lives, let us live every day in accordance with the teachings of our Lord. Let us face the year ahead in the spirit of the reading prescribed for today, Thursday, January 2, which includes one of the most beautiful passages from the Holy Scriptures:

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.” (Hebrews 13:2-3)
