Letters from Armenia

Anahit – 02/26/25

This week’s letter is from Anahit,* who is sponsored by Dr. Annita Nerses & Mr. Dennis Kurpius.

* We use only the first names of the children and those who benefit from the program to protect their privacy.

Dear Sponsor,

This is Anahit, born on July 22 in Vayk city. Our family is small, but very loving. There are three of us: my mother, sister, and me.

Our mom has always been our strength and support, especially after losing our father. She taught me how to be patient, hardworking, and never give up, even when life delivers the hardest blows.

My sister is my best friend. She is the source of hope and strength for me. I am really proud of my sister.

My everyday life is busy with school classes and self-improvement. I am a student at Yeghegnadzor’s regional high school, and I go to English classes in the afterschool program. I love learning English, because I believe that it will help me feel more tuned to the world.

Although I have many dreams, sometimes it feels like some of them are not realistic. The biggest of them is to see the world where no child has to go through what we did, a world living in peace. Peace is the most valuable thing in the world to me.

Sincerely and with deepest gratitude,

Anahit
