PRELATE ANOINTS ST. STEPHEN’S NEW CROSS

On Saturday, February 22, His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, participated in the Divine Liturgy at St. Stephen’s Church (New Britain, Connecticut) and presided over the anointment of a new cross for the church. Archpriest Fr. Aram Stepanian, Emeritus Pastor, was the celebrant.

Following the Divine Liturgy, the Prelate anointed with the Holy Muron a replica of the church’s original cross, which will soon be placed atop the church’s entrance.

His Eminence extolled the church council’s steadfast efforts for the renovation of the church in preparation for its upcoming centennial celebration in October.

A special reception followed in the parish hall, where parishioners and guests mingled in the joyous atmosphere of a revitalizing church.

A delightful surprise brightened the event when a birthday cake was presented to Mrs. Susan Kochunas, a 104-year-old parishioner, along with a proclamation from the mayor marking the occasion. On the joyous occasion, His Eminence presented Mrs. Kochunas with a congratulatory letter from the Prelacy.
