Dear Sponsor,
This is 13-year-old Mariam. I live in Tegh, a border village of Armenia. It is a beautiful place where nature and difficulties always co-exist. Our village is small, but it is full of strong and tenacious people who continue to live and work on their land despite all the difficulties. I am one of those people.
Unfortunately, five years ago my life suffered a great loss which transformed my world. I lost my loved grandmother, father, uncle, his wife, and my grandfather. The loss of each one of them deeply affected me. In the years since, a new layer of suffering was created inside of me, but it also made me stronger. Years are short, but so much loss is extremely hard.
Living in those difficult circumstances, I understand how important support is, especially from people who have a heart and the ability to help others in need. Your organization’s charitable work gave me a new source of hope. I believe that your care and support can ease our pain, help children who live in similar difficult circumstances, and give us a brighter and more reliable future.
I dream of the day when the children of my village, including me, will be able to smile and believe in the future knowing that we have kind and supportive people standing at our side.
I am very grateful to my sponsor and to the Nerses the Great charitable organization. I can tell with certainty that kindness exists.
With love and best regards,
Mariam
