COMMUNITIES ​COMMEMORATE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE​ 110TH ANNIVERSARY

​Armenians throughout the world, including communities across the Eastern Prelacy​, will mark the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide with a series of solemn and dignified commemorations. 

In New York, local community organizations will gather on Thursday, April 24, at 3:00 pm for the Divine Liturgy at St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in solemn commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, followed by a march. On Saturday, April 26, at 7:00 PM, a commemorative event will take place at St. Sarkis Church in Douglaston, featuring music, poetry, and remembrance.

Later in the week, on Sunday, April 27, at 10:00 AM, the United Armenian Community of the New York metropolitan area will mark the Feast of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide with the Divine Liturgy at St. Vartan Cathedral, which will be followed by a march to Times Square for the annual commemoration, sponsored by the Knights of Vartan and several other Armenian organizations.
