PRELATE CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT BIDEN
The Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
President of the United States of America
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20500
Dear Mr. President:
Please accept our congratulations on your inauguration as the 46th President of the United States.
On behalf of the Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of the Eastern United States and its faithful across the parishes under our jurisdiction, we welcome your election with the hope that a new era has begun in the history of the United States. We are confident that not only the residents of this country, but, as the Psalmist says, “The eyes of all look to you” (Ps 145:15).
As our Supreme Patriarch, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia has said, American-Armenians cherish your friendship with our community and your vision of a democratic world, free of genocide and human rights abuses. We are ready to work with you in your initiatives to protect the endangered populations of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia against the continuing threat of regional violence and intolerance. We further look forward to the official U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide under your Administration, which will be a symbolic yet big step towards redressing one of the greatest crimes against humanity in modern history.
Please let me repeat once again our wholehearted support to you and your Administration, which we welcome as the harbinger of a new, better world.
We pray that the Almighty Lord leads you in wisdom and in loving and caring spirit to bring peace and prosperity to the Home of the Brave and the world at large.
Wishing you success and progress in all your endeavors,
Prayerfully,
ARCHBISHOP ANOUSHAVAN TANIELIAN
Prelate, Eastern United States of America
Archbishop Anoushavan also sent congratulatory letters to Vice-President Kamala Harris and new Senate Majority Leader Sen. Charles Schumer.
