SALT & LIGHT YOUTH MINISTRY HOLDS VIRTUAL LENTEN RETREAT

Youth and their facilitators from all our Salt & Light Youth Ministry groups gathered virtually this past Saturday, March 13, for the first annual Lenten Retreat. Greeted by Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, participants received his encouraging words and fatherly blessing as they began the insightful discussions about Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving, led by Rev. Fr. Nareg Terterian.

Participants discussed ways to broaden their prayer lives leaning on daily Scripture reading and by attending Soorp Badarak regularly. Salt & Lighters also shared ways to grow in the discipline of almsgiving, for example by increasing acts of kindness, during the remainder of Great Lent. Also in attendance were Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian and Rev. Fr. Hrant Kevorkian, both of whom shared practical insights on the topics discussed.

Since the inception of Salt & Light, plans had been explored to provide regional retreats for our youth to gather, pray, connect and grow in their faith with their peers. Albeit virtually, the idea was finally realized, marking what prayerfully will remain a regularly occurring event for Youth Ministry.
