VISIT TO THE ARMENIAN SISTERS ACADEMY
On Monday, May 10, the Armenian Sisters Academy in Radnor, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, enjoyed a special visit from Ms. Azadouhi Zarukian and Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, pastor of St. Illuminator’s Armenian Cathedral in New York City.
The Armenian Church and schools have a very special place in Ms. Azadouhi’s heart. The Armenian Sisters Academy, as well as all Armenian schools and the churches, hold the key to the future of our people. As a child, Ms. Azadouhi and her siblings attended an Armenian school in Istanbul run by the Mekhitarist Fathers. Ms. Azadouhi has made it her lifelong mission to provide support and assistance to Armenian Church schools in memory of her parents and siblings.
The students, faculty, and principal of the Academy, Sister Emma Moussayan, welcomed the guests, and the children performed a beautiful program of Armenian songs, recitations and dance dedicated to Mother’s Day. Afterward, Ms. Azadouhi presented a gift of $2,000 to the Academy on behalf of St. Illuminator’s Zarukian Fund.
