RENOVATED CILICIA MUSEUM REOPENS DOORS AT HOLY SEE
In a ceremony presided over by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, the Cilicia Museum of the Holy See in Antelias was officially reopened on Dec. 2, following a major renovation thanks to a donation by Mr. and Mrs. Garo Eshkiyan, of Los Angeles. The reopening took place in the presence of prelates, clergy, donors and other community members after the meeting Central Executive Council of the Catholicosate.
Addressing the attendees, His Holiness expressed his gratitude to benefactors who helped fulfill this and other projects. He said every Armenian has a role to play in the mission of our Church.
In addition to the museum, in the past two years a donation by Mr. and Mrs. Dikran Djierian, of Monaco. permitted the renovation and reorganization of the Cilicia Library, lodged in the Museum building, as well as the establishment and reorganization of a section of incunabula (ancient books) and manuscripts.
The St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral of the Holy See was also renovated thanks to a donation by Mr. and Mrs. Hovsep Boyajian, of Los Angeles.
