ST. STEPHEN’S COMMUNITY RECEIVES PRELATE IN FIRST 2022 VISIT
His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate, paid the first visit of the New Year to St. Stephen’s Church, of New Britain, CT, on Sunday, Jan. 2. Prior to the sermon, the Prelate said he fervently wished to pray with the St. Stephen’s community, as it is the second oldest of the Eastern Prelacy after St. Illuminator’s Cathedral, with 97 years of service during which it has kept the Armenian faith, identity, cultural, and social life vibrant. And he expressed his gratitude for seeing his wish fulfilled. The Prelate then brought into life the Bible reading of the day, linking it up to our modern life (see the Prelate’s sermon elsewhere in this issue).
Following Divine Liturgy, the Prelate highly praised the Pastor, Rev. Fr. Garabed Telfeyan, the Board of Trustees and the auxiliary bodies for their selfless dedication, especially in these days of pandemic emergency, and expressed his wish that the community will be able to celebrate its centennial without a hitch.
