ST. STEPHEN’S CHURCH OF WATERTOWN RECEIVES HOLY MURON

The faithful of St. Stephen’s Church in Watertown, MA, was the latest to receive the newly consecrated Holy Muron from His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, on Sunday, Aug. 14. On the joyous occasion, the Prelate celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon (see below).

Prior to the Lord’s Prayer, a procession brought the holy chrism from the baptismal font to the altar for the Blessing of the Waters. Upon the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a prayer was said at the newly opened khatchkar courtyard next to the church, following which the Blessing of the Grapes took place.

The Prelate addressed the public, saying that, along with our Faith, Homeland, and Culture, our traditions with their different facets have an undeniable role in the preservation of our identity. On occasion of the Feast of the Ascension of the Holy Mother of God, which coincides with the month of Navasart, marking the New Year according to the ancient Armenian calendar, His Eminence also invited everybody to express our gratitude to our Most Merciful Lord for all the visible and invisible blessings he has granted us.
