“HOPE AND LIGHT” AID FOR ARTSAKH ARMENIANS RECOGNIZED
On the Facebook page of Jraberd, the official organ of the administration of Martakert region, Editor Ilona Andryan has written a post entitled “The Power of Good,” in which she recognizes the aid provided by the “Hope and Light” organization to displaced citizens of Artsakh, on the initiative and material support of the Eastern Prelacy.
In her note, Andryan has written on the important role of charity to improve the quality of life of people in difficult conditions, regardless of the amount of help provided. She added that the humane treatment afforded to the forcibly displaced Armenians of Artsakh is especially appreciated as they face difficulties following their temporary resettlement within the Republic of Armenia.
Upon the initiative and support of brothers Andrey and Artsakh Bakhshiyan, who are originally from the village of Vaghuhas, in Artsakh, and His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, the Hope and Light charity offers social support to forcibly displaced families from the Martakert region.
According to Artsakh Bakhshiyan, himself a member of Hope and Light, informed that every month 35 families from Martakert region are provided with packages of food and household items, giving priority to the families with many children, martyrs, and injured persons. “With the support of Archbishop Anoushavan, the provision of help began in November and as of today, more than 1,000 people—250 families—have received aid packages.” The starting point for the process was the region of Kotayk considering its higher population density, with more regions following suit.
