Letters from Armenia

Narek – 07/18/24

Dear Sponsor,

This is Narek, I’m 16 years old. I am the son of fallen hero Armen [Editor’s note: family name withheld] and it seems to me that because of my life experiences I don’t think like a typical 16-year-old. I grew up in the course of a few days, because I witnessed the loss of my homeland. I always thought that after my father’s death nothing else will be able to cause me that much pain, but losing the land for which he sacrificed his life brought me unbearable pain.

The road of exile is indescribable – it is a dark and hellish road, and the bridge over the river Hakari is Satan’s bridge, and I left 16 years of my life, my childhood, and my happy days on the other side of that bridge.

Currently, my family and I live in the village of Dzoraghbyur (in Armenia). I go to school and I try to help my mom who has many hopes for my future. I pray to God that He doesn’t give us any more hardships and helps us to look forward.

Thank you for helping our family and please remain at our side.
