ARMENIAN TRIVIA NIGHT AT THE CATHEDRAL

On Thursday, February 27, St. Illuminator’s held a hugely successful Armenian Trivia Night, the first of its kind ever at the Cathedral. The event was the brainchild of Raffi Grigorian and Davit Torosyan, two dedicated young members of the Cathedral’s Board of Trustees, who also researched and wrote all the questions, developed the rules of the game, and served as Emcees. Participating were more than 50 players, many new to the Cathedral, who formed nine teams and tested their knowledge on a variety of Armenian topics, including history, religion, culture, sports and entertainment, famous Armenians, music, and general knowledge. The winning team, who prevailed after five rounds of questions plus a bonus round, took home signed copies of the book Armenian Church Traditions of Certain Sacraments and the Five Cardinal Feasts by Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian, Pastor Emeritus of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Philadelphia, and trophies made especially for the occasion by Mark Dilsizian, another member of the Cathedral’s board. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and to those who made the event possible, especially Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian, Yeretsgeen Ojeen, and board members Armen Morian, Louise Kanian, and Aram Parsehian.
