Description

Until the last few decades, it was predominant the hypothesis that the homeland of the Indo-European mother languageā€”also known as Proto-Indo-Europeanā€”had been located in Europe, and that the speakers of the Armenian language had migrated to the Armenian Plateau after the breakup of the mother language. Linguistic and archaeological evidence has been used to challenge that view, even advancing the view that Proto-Indo-European language had its origins in Asia Minor and the Armenian Plateau. In this book, Martiros Kavoukjian offers bold views based on evidence from ancient Mesopotamian languages that sought to support the view that the Armenian language and its speakers were indigenous to their historical homeland.
