Eastern Prelacy University Scholarship

The Eastern Prelacy Fund encourages students of Armenian origin living in Lebanon and Syria to obtain higher education degrees in any field at a recognized university in their country of residence. Up to 10 new scholarships will be awarded each year for a maximum period of three years. Each scholarship will have a fixed amount of $500, with priority being given to undergraduate degrees in 2025. Upon the acceptance of the application, the scholarships will be distributed through the Treasury of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia.

Eligibility Conditions:

Be of Armenian origin, resident of Lebanon or Syria.
Be no more than 25 years old at the time of the application.
Have outstanding examination and/or school results.
Be enrolled or accepted in a university.
Candidates must declare to the Fund the income sources of their family.
Candidates must submit two recommendation letters from their high school or university.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The students will be selected by the Prelate and a committee through a competitive process, based on merit and financial need. The selection committee or representative may interview applicants.

CONDITIONS FOR MAINTAINING THE EASTERN PRELACY SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded for one academic year. Students may apply for the renewal of the scholarship on a yearly basis if satisfactory progress is made in the chosen studies.

APPLICATION

Applications must be submitted online. The application process for the 2025-2026 academic year will open on August 20, 2025, and the deadline for applications is September 20, 2025. We strongly advise candidates not to wait until the last few days before applying. Applicants will be informed of the decision during the month of October 2025.
