“The purpose of the book is to present a brief outline of Armenian history; significant personalities who contributed to the history in one way or another; different cultural, religious, and military happenings; and a word about the legends, places, and organizations that relate to the Armenians. The text refers mostly to the traditional accounts of Armenian history, but also addresses some of the recent findings of contemporary scholars.

The text endeavors to answer many of the questions that Armenians ask about themselves, and sometimes the questions of odars (non-Armenians), students, children and grandchildren. The references are in alphabetized sequence to facilitate any searching. Cross indexing is utilized where there are doubts about specific names or wherever there are multiple spellings.”
