Intimacy with Narek: Pastoral Perspective, Compiled by Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian (softcover)

This is a useful compilation of texts culled up from St. Gregory of Narek’s Book of Tragedy, aimed at making the reader more intimate with this superb jewel of religious literature. To this goal, Archpriest Fr. Nerses Manoogian has collected the different sections of the book under various chapters.

The first chapter include those prayers “which are not crowded with adjectives and images and categorized according to their subjects.” The second chapter has gathered examples of St. Gregory of Narek’s adjectives and imagery and categorized them according to their subjects. The third chapter includes many fragments of prayers that are one or more sentences long for use in social media outlets and have been grouped according to their subjects. Finally, the fourth chapter contains sections from the book in which the saint testifies about himself or his book.
