Description
Sarkis Narzakian’s narrative is a somber commentary on the activities of Armenian revolutionarios who tenaciously carried on the struggle for Armenian political rights in the Ottoman Empire.
Born in the village of Garmari in the region of Chemishgadzak to the north of Kharpert, Sarkis Narzakian came from humble origins and became a revolutionary during the reign of Abdul Hamid II. After imprisonment, he fled to the United States where he continued his political activities and got involved in the American labor movement as well. Narzakian went back to the Ottoman Empire after the revolution of 1908 and returned to the United States before the outbreak of World War I.
