THE NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY HOLDS ITS OPENING SESSION

This year too, in view of the circumstances created by the Covid pandemic, the Executive Council of the Eastern Prelacy decided to hold its National Representative Assembly on a virtual platform. The NRA implemented this modality successfully last year, convening online for the first time in September 2020.

The inaugural session was held yesterday. Following the prayer by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate, the Assembly chairperson, Simoné Topouzian, delivered the opening remarks, presenting the agenda of the meeting.

In its online version, the NRA’s meeting has been expanded, allowing representatives to listen to the message of the Executive Council and learn in more detail about the activities of the Prelacy. With this in mind, the Armenian Religious Education Council, the Armenian National Education Committee, the Youth Ministry and the Communications department are scheduled to make online presentations at 7:30 pm-8:30 pm on April 20, 22, 27 and 29, respectively, followed by Q & A sessions. The last online session, during which the Prelacy’s budget will be ratified and the members of the Executive Council will be elected, will take place on Saturday, May 22, at 10:30-12:30 am.

After Mrs. Topouzian’s opening remarks, she invited John Kulungian, Chairman of the Executive Council, to address the meeting. Mr. Kulungian offered an overview of the main activities of the Eastern Prelacy in the September 2020-March 2021 period.

The session was closed with a prayer by Very Rev. Fr. Sahag Yemishian, General Vicar of the Prelacy.
