LETTER OF CONDOLENCES BY CATHOLICOS ARAM I ON THE PASSING OF MRS. IRIS PAPAZIAN

Your Eminence
Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian
Prelate

Eastern Prelacy of the United States

Dear Prelate,

We learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Mrs. Iris Papazian, one of the most distinguished figures of the Eastern Prelacy of the United States. On this sad occasion, we express our heartfelt condolences to You, the Executive Council of the Eastern Prelacy, his son, Michael Papazian, and all his relatives.

Indeed, We met Mrs. Papazian in New York during Our student days. We were impressed with her selfless spirit and her devotion to the church. Along with her husband Pierre, she has made major contributions in the spheres of the church, social and cultural life of the community. Since the days of the foundation of the Prelacy, Iris Papazian has worked closely with every Prelate, even at her advanced age. She has demonstrated special love and loyalty to the Holy See of the Great House of Cilicia. She has inculcated love for the Church in her only son, Michael, who, in his turn, has been an active participant in the work of the Prelacy.

We pray our Most Merciful God will receive the soul of Iris Papazian in the joyous peace of heaven and may console her son, relatives and all her loved ones through the intervention of the Holy Spirit.

With warm greetings of love,

Prayerfully,

Catholicos Aram I
Great House of Cilicia
