The feast of Transfiguration was celebrated joyfully at St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church of New Britain on Sunday, July 11. After the Badarak, Der Garabed sprinkled the congregation with water according to the Armenian tradition. Afterwards the family of St. Stephen’s enjoyed sizzling lamb shish kebab, beef kufta, lahmajun, hommos, baba-ghanouj, ghurabia, date cookies, lemon cake, blueberry cake, sesame candy, and coffee and tea.
Assisting Archdeacon Edward Varjabedian at the altar were Deacons Garo Kapikian, Andy Ylitalo, Hagop Toghramadjian, and Raffi Kapikian.
Under the leadership of Choirmaster-Organist Susan Shabazian were Alice Gulesserian, Knar Semerdjian, Pamela Rustigian, Daniel Zaborowski, Natasha Toghramadjian, Anahid Telfeyan, and Angela Kapikian.
