On Sunday, September 19, the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia was commemorated throughout the parishes of the Prelacy with a special prayer service and ceremony of blessing of the flags. The service and blessing at St. Illuminator’s Cathedral in New York were held after the Divine Liturgy and led by His Eminence Archbishop Anoushavan, Prelate, with the participation of Rev. Fr. Mesrob Lakissian and the deacons. Also present for the occasion was the former Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy, Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan.
