As part of the continuous education programs sponsored by the Prelacy, the Spring 2022 semester of coursework was presented to deacons and church servants. From January to March, graduate-level classes were offered regarding the theology of Holy Week “Avak Shapat” in the Armenian Tradition. Each week, via Zoom technology, more than forty dedicated participants examined the Scripture and Liturgy of Holy Week in twice-weekly, two-hour sessions. Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian presided over the weekly curriculum which was prepared by Archdeacon George Leylegian. Over the past two years, the Prelacy has encouraged six semesters of classwork for the deacons and church servants in our parishes, and the intense studies combined with delightful camaraderie have been well received and highly informative for all of the participants.
