Sts. Vartanantz Church teens in Providence, RI, got together for a fun filled and informative evening on March 28th, as the Salt and Light Youth Ministry gathered to share in fellowship, share a home cooked meal, discuss what is pleasing to our Lord (Philippians 4:8-9) and participate in what has become a favorite part of our evening, “Ask Der Hayr.”
After a warm welcome and prayer by Rev. Fr. Kapriel Nazarian, Pastor, Der Hayr addressed well thought out questions by the teens during the meal. Fr. Kapriel provided an overview of Holy Week and extended a well received invitation to the teens to attend services on Maundy Thursday and to participate in the reenactment of the washing of the disciples’ feet.
The teens also spoke of their first service project, which is making Easter baskets for the less fortunate youth at Holy Family Home in Providence. This project tied into the group’s lesson entitled “Whatever,” about learning what is pleasing to God and to focus thoughts and attentions on those things.
