Archbishop Papken, Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, and Bishop Torkom, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, sent congratulatory messages to Archbishop Anoushavan on the jubilee of his ordination. “Fifty years ago, your inner voice, the vocation, led you to receive a divine blessing, to be bequeathed with the graces of the Holy Spirit, and to be ready to serve as a celibate priest in the Armenian Church,” said Archbishop Papken. In his letter, Bishop Torkom highlighted the human and religious qualities of Archbishop Anoushavan, saying that the “eloquent proof of all this is your reelection to the responsible position of Prelate, the achievement of which is not a mere honor, but a conscious sacrifice for the love of our nation, the splendor of our Mother Church, and the glory of our people.”
