“THE HIDDEN MAP” TO BE SHOWN IN NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY

Following its popular nationwide PBS premiere in June, The Hidden Map, a documentary that takes viewers deep into the ancestral Armenian homeland, has been scheduled to air again in markets including the nation’s largest city. The film, which digs beneath the surface of modern-day Turkey to bring Armenian voices, relics and stories to life, will air in New Jersey and New York on July 10, 14 and 16, as follows:

New Jersey PBS- WLIW21

Sun, July 10, 2022- 8:00 pm

Sat, July 16, 2022- 4:30 pm

New York PBS- THIRTEEN

Thu, July 14, 2022- 8:30 pm

Sat, July 16, 2022- 4:30 pm

The 90-minute broadcast includes  in-studio conversations with filmmaker Ani Hovannisian and opportunities for viewers to show their support to PBS for airing programs like The Hidden Map.  Mementos include The Hidden Map DVD, postcards of historic Western Armenia, and unique hand-crocheted dolls made in Goris, Armenia exclusively for this occasion. Some of the women making the dolls are displaced citizens of Artsakh, working to rebuild their lives… another story to which PBS is raising awareness by putting this program on television. This is a rare moment when, by watching and supporting, we can easily collectively encourage PBS to continue sharing our story with millions of public television viewers. Few documentaries about the Armenians have ever gained such widespread public exposure.

The music of talented composer Ara Dinkjian, a resident of New Jersey, is featured in the film.
